Speaker Bio

Rachel has extensive experience in the aviation, science, and technology sectors holding senior roles at the UK Civil Aviation Authority and the UK Space Agency. She has led transformational programmes focused on enhancing organisational effectiveness and previously chaired the UK Jet Zero Council Zero Emission Flight Delivery Group.

As a Director of Aviascia, Rachel provides consultancy services in sustainable aviation and transformation and is also a Board Advisor for Astroscale, a space sustainability company. She is the Chair of the Green Aviation Insights Steering Group on behalf of NATS and as a Director of EmPower Flight, is involved in advancing sustainable and inclusive flight training.

As a Chartered Mathematician and a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society, Rachel previously held a commercial pilot licence and serves as a trustee of the world’s largest air humanitarian charity. She was also awarded an OBE (Officer of the British Empire) for services to aviation in the King’s Birthday Honours.
