Senior Program Manager, Operations Validation
Annie Cheng is a Senior Program Manager at Wisk. She is responsible for the company’s Operations Validation Program that demonstrates Wisk’s operational proficiency by conducting simulated and live flight test events to advance the operational, regulatory, and standards aspects of airspace integration. Wisk is a pioneer in remotely piloted passenger carrying air taxis, and airspace integration is essential to safely and efficiently incorporating its aircraft into existing and future air traffic systems. This involves developing technologies and procedures for autonomous flight, as well as collaborating with regulatory bodies to establish safe operating frameworks for AAM.
Prior to joining Wisk in 2023, Annie was the Principal Engineer of the Urban Air Mobility (UAM) Airspace Project at National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), which focused on the research and development to advance integration of UAM into the National Airspace System (NAS).
Before joining NASA, she supported the FAA NextGen Office with their efforts to modernize the air traffic control system. She was a seasoned airport consultant for a decade, specialized in airspace and procedure design, and led airspace studies for master plans at over 30 airports in the U.S. and internationally to plan for increased traffic and advanced technologies.
Annie holds a MS in Aeronautical Engineering from Purdue University, a MS in Information System Management from Carnegie Mellon University, and a BS in Computer Science from the University of British Columbia. She holds a FAA private pilot and Part 107 remote pilot license. Before she caught the aviation bug, she worked at Wall Street in New York, created a proprietary automated trading platform for a hedge fund and was a trading analyst at Goldman Sachs.
