Project Director Aviation
Francis Lorenzon is currently a Project Director based in Hong Kong, overseeing CNS/ATM activities in the Asia-Pacific region since 2024. From 2021 to 2024, he successfully served as Project Manager, Lead Systems Engineer, and Systems Solution Architect in Hong Kong, providing Professional Services, including Safety and Systems Engineering Training, to the Civil Aviation Department (CAD) as part of the Three-Runways Programme (3RS), which was commissioned in November 2024.
Prior to this, he was stationed in Panama from 2017 to June 2020 as the ORAT (Operational Readiness and Airport Transfer) Service Coordination Manager for Tocumen International Airport. During this assignment, he was specifically responsible for systems training and staff operational familiarisation before the opening of the new terminal.
From 2014 to 2016, Francis was expatriated in Saudi Arabia as the Project Manager and Site Coordinator for the New KAIA Airport in Jeddah. He was involved in developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and the comprehensive testing and integration of all systems in the new Air Traffic Control Tower (ATCT). His role also included training and shadowing activities on the new CNS/ATM and MET systems installed in the ATCT.
With over 20 years of aeronautical experience in airport operations and air traffic management infrastructures and systems, Francis has honed technical expertise in technical acceptance, transition, and operational commissioning for air traffic control towers and advanced airport systems. He has played a pivotal role in various complex integration and commissioning projects across Europe, the Middle East, Central America, Africa, the Pacific, and Asia.
Throughout these assignments, he has demonstrated a high level of pragmatism and a keen ability to analyse, synthesise, anticipate, and manage priorities. This has enabled him to identify key success factors and major risks, ensuring the proper conduct of projects and delivering meaningful results for Airport Operators and Air Navigation Services Providers.
All these experiences have equipped Francis with strong project management capabilities in multicultural airport and air navigation contexts, as well as specific expertise in testing, validation, and commissioning processes. His skills allow him to coordinate complex projects in changing environments with a high level of customer satisfaction, creating significant benefits for clients.
