General Manager of Performance & Development
Maartje van der Helm is the General Manager of Performance & Development at LVNL and a member of the Corporate Management Team. She works closely with partners such as airlines, Schiphol Airport, other air traffic control organizations in Europe, the Military Air Force Command, and the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management to create valuable solutions to reduce noise pollution, fuel consumption, and CO2 emissions, and to further improve LVNL’s performance. Maartje is closely involved in the Airspace Redesign Program and the integration of drones into Dutch airspace. She does this in close collaboration with various national and international stakeholders.
Since June 2025 Maartje is the Chair of the CANSO Operational Standing Committee Steering Group. Further, as the Chair of the Board of the Knowledge and Development Center (KDC), she is tasked with developing innovative solutions for the sustainable development of Mainport Schiphol. Additionally, she is a member of the Advisory Board of the Netherlands Aerospace Centre (NLR) and advisory council of Aerospace Engineering at TU Delft. Maartje obtained her Master of Business Administration at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.
