Markus Klopf, Director Product Strategy and International Affairs, Frequentis
Markus Klopf serves as Director of Product Strategy and International Affairs for the Air Traffic Management (ATM) Civil division at Frequentis. With over 25 years of international experience in telecommunications and IT, he has played a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of Frequentis’ ATM portfolio. His leadership has driven innovation across key areas including drone strategy development, the advancement of Trajectory-Based Operations (TBO) from research into practical application, and the expansion of remote digital tower solutions.

Markus is actively engaged in global aviation forums, contributing to working groups and panels within ICAO, CANSO, SESAR, and ATCA. Within CANSO, he holds positions on the SISC Steering Group and ICAO Working Group, and chairs the Strategic Technology Working Group, where he helps guide the industry’s technological evolution. Prior to joining Frequentis, Markus held various commercial and technical roles at Ericsson, the Swedish telecommunications company. He holds an engineering degree in telecommunications and a Master’s degree in Marketing and Sales from the University of Applied Sciences in Vienna, Austria.

Outside of his professional career, Markus is deeply committed to sport. He is a passionate tennis player and president of a tennis club. He is also an enthusiastic runner and cyclist, having completed marathons, half marathons, 10K races, and participated in track and field events. He holds a certification as a tennis chair umpire and referee.
