Piyawut Tantimekabut (Toon) is ATM Expert, Director Level, Aeronautical Radio of Thailand Ltd (AEROTHAI).
Toon is responsible for providing management advise on all Air Traffic Management (ATM) matters related to AEROTHAI, while also serving as Thailand / AEROTHAI representatives in international fora.
Toon started working at AEROTHAI in ATS Engineering R&D Department where he was deeply involved in ATFM Operations for the nighttime overflight through Afghanistan airspace using the BOBCAT system since 2005 from Concept of Operations development, software development and post-operations analysis. Toon further leveraged his experience with the BOBCAT project to further develop Cross-Border ATFM operations in the Asia-Pacific region through joint leadership of CANSO Bangkok – Singapore CDM pilot project (2011), which evolved into the Asia-pacific cross-border Multi-Nodal ATFM Collaboration (AMNAC) project. Meanwhile, Toon managed AEROTHAI ATFM team through the ANS certification process of ATFM service provided in Thailand in 2020-2024, culminating in AEROTHAI being certified by CAA Thailand (CAAT) as an ATFM service provider in early 2025. In addition, Toon managed resumption of the BOBCAT ATFM procedure in September 2025 from AEROTHAI perspective.
