Event details

This presentation, offered by Startical—the satellite constellation designed specifically for Air Traffic Management (ATM) and backed by ENAIRE and INDRA—details how the global dream of truly seamless airspace is being achieved.
Startical has achieved a historic milestone: we are the first and only to provide Real-Time Bidirectional Satellite-Based VHF Communication (Voice and Data) directly between aircraft and Air Traffic Controllers (ATC). This fundamental breakthrough uses the same traditional aviation VHF band, solving the challenge of communication fragmentation over oceanic and remote regions.
Key Takeaways:
• Pioneering Achievement: Startical is the first to achieve and currently the only provider of real-time, bidirectional satellite-based VHF Voice and Data communication between pilot and controller.
• Technical Validation: We will present results from the Proof of Concept trials (IOD-1 and IOD-2), which have successfully demonstrated this real-time VHF Voice Communication and Data Link with the participation of Air Traffic Controllers.
• Surveillance Integration: The Startical satellites addnt ADS-B from Space reception capabilities to the VHF Voice and Data services.
This session is essential for ANSPs and regulators in APAC looking for proven solutions to eliminate communication gaps, optimize oceanic and remote flight paths, and advance toward a digital, safe, and fully connected future.
