Speaker Bio

Mariagrazia La Piscopia is an aviation manager currently serving as the
Executive Director of the SESAR Deployment Manager (SDM), a pivotal role
she has held since June 2022.
With over 25 years of experience in the aviation and Air Traffic Management
sectors, her expertise spans the full spectrum from technical to strategic
domains, including research, development and deployment.
Prior to her current position, she served as SDM’s Chief of Programme and
Strategy. She began her career at ENAV, the Italian Air Navigation Service
Provider, where she held the role of Head of International Coordination and
ATM Planning.
Under her leadership, SDM has placed strong emphasis on stakeholder
coordination in shaping the European sky, particularly in the context of
digital transformation, sustainability and security.
In addition, she has consistently championed the importance of civil-military
cooperation to build a more integrated, sustainable, efficient and secure
European space.
She strongly supports the SESAR project as one of the key European
instruments for advancing the modernization of Air Traffic Management for
both civil and military stakeholders.
